The IM2600 is a power-management IC mainly for Type-C peripheral applications. It integrates a synchronous Buck converter with a built-in high-side MOSFET and a gate driver for an optional low-side external MOSFET. If the input voltage VIN decreases to a voltage close to VOUT, it enters dropout operation and turns on an external and additional MOSFET, bypassing the internal high-side MOSFET and inductor. It features an internal fixed soft-start function and offers protection features including input UVLO, cycle-by-cycle current limit, output short-circuit protection (SCP) or OVP and thermal shutdown.
The IM2600 also control two N-MOSFETs as load switches helping to reduce BOM cost. With a micro-processor, it can realize input bulk capacitance discharging during power swap. The IM2600 is available in a 20-pin QFN package with featuring an exposed die attach pad to aid thermal dissipation.
